Small Scale Sculpting with Kelsey Schroeder - July 3rd at 12pm EST
Workshop Description:
Small Scale Sculpting: Puffins
In this workshop I'll be sculpting, underglazing, and assembling a puffin mug. I'll show you my tips for sculpting on a small scale, plus useful tools and techniques to create one of a kind mugs. I'll discuss my design process, considerations for sculpting onto functional pieces, and my best tips for underglazing small details on greenware.
Artist Bio:
I am originally from Rapid City, South Dakota and I am proud to be a working artist still living in the Black Hills. I have been working in clay for over 20 years, and I currently work out of my home studio full time to support my family. I am inspired by colors and textures in the natural world- from ocean tides and coral reefs, to geological formations and patterns in rocks. I have always been particularly inspired by the immense biodiversity our planet supports and the unique and beautiful qualities each species adds to their habitat and our world as a whole. My wildlife creations celebrate both unique creatures and the beauty of their environments. It is my hope to create a world that is energetic and colorful while still staying true to the subtle beauty I see in nature and give back to conservation with every piece I create.
Once you purchase the workshop, you will receive an email with the Zoom link and any other info that you need before joining! You’ll receive a recording of the 1.5-2 hour session, as well, for 6 months of access.
