Dara Schuman is a ceramicist based out of Chicago. She began throwing in high school and has been working as a full-time ceramicist since 2021. Her main focus is elevating and pushing the limits of traditional wheel thrown vessels. Her vases are usually tall and narrow and are uniquely shaped and intricately trimmed.

In this virtual lesson you will be taught techniques on how to shape tall and narrow cylinders into various forms, including collapsing walls to make rings and rounding out walls to create stacked spheres. You will also learn techniques on how to efficiently trim tall and narrow vases using a thrown chuck.

Once you purchase the workshop, you will receive an email with the Zoom link and any other info that you need before joining! You’ll receive a recording of the 1-1.5 hour session, as well, so don’t stress if you can’t make it live!
